Emilio Estevez (/ɛˈmɪlioʊ ɛˈstɛvəs/; born May 12, 1962) is an American actor and filmmaker.
He is the son of actor Martin Sheen and the older brother of Charlie Sheen. Estevez made his theatrical film debut in the drama film Tex (1982). As one of the actors associated with Brat Pack, he is notable for starring in coming-of-age drama films such as The Outsiders (1983), The Breakfast Club (1985), St. Elmo's Fire (1985), as well as the cult science fiction/comedy film Repo Man (1984). He subsequently starred in films in various genres such as Judgment Night (1993), Loaded Weapon 1 (1993), and Mission: Impossible (1996). Estevez also starred in three film franchises: Stakeout (1987) and its 1993 sequel, Young Guns (1988) and its 1990 sequel, and The Mighty Ducks (1992–1996; 2021).
Estevez made his directorial debut with the drama film Wisdom (1986) and also directed the comedy film Men at Work (1990). Since the mid-1990s, Estevez starred mostly in the films he directed such as The War at Home (1996), Rated X (2000), Bobby (2006), and The Way (2010).
